Officers of the Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC) of Mexico City detained five men after a pursuit resulting from a virtual fence. The individuals were arrested in the Iztapalapa borough and were found with a cell phone and cash. They are suspected of having robbed the owner of a tortería in the area.
In the Predio El Molino neighborhood, officers received an alert from the Command and Control Center (C2) East about a robbery in a tortería located at the intersection of Guacepil and Piraña streets. Upon arrival at the scene, a 19-year-old man in charge of the business reported that five individuals physically and verbally assaulted him, taking money, a cell phone, and then fleeing on motorcycles.
Thanks to surveillance cameras in the area, police coordinated with C2 North to track the escape route of the robbers, successfully intercepting them on Emiliano Zapata and Transfiguración streets in the San Antonio neighborhood. After a preventive search, they found the stolen phone and money, and they were identified by the victim.
Among the detained individuals are four minors, two aged 16, two aged 17, and a young man aged 18. They were informed of their constitutional rights and were made available to the Public Ministry, along with the seized motorcycles, to determine their legal situation.
